Are you familiar with retrorenovation.com? It's a blog exactly for people like you--who buy mid-century homes and want to preserve them as they were originally built. You might get some good ideas or resources for materials there. :)

I'm a 1980 model, but I have always loved the music of the 60's. When my classmates were swooning over New Kids On The Block, I was listening to the Beach Boys. My mom always told me I was born about 30 years too late. ;)

I'm among the original "baby boomer" group born in 1946. Loved the era I grew up in (for the most part). My grandchild will never know the freedom and innocence we experienced....too much information overload for everyone these days.

LOVE IT - I was born in 1963 but my uncle was only 18 when I was born so experienced all of it through him. He is the one that introduced me to the Beatles - a life long love.

Thanks for the link.

I guess you can count me in as one of those who miss certain aspects of the good, old days. Can't help but sing along when I hear one of the oldies but goodies on the radio. I think they're the only songs I actually know the words to. Songs these days don't seem to have understandable lyrics. I will admit though, they really make me face my mortality. Can't believe I'm one of the "old" folks now.

Thanks for sharing this link. What a great overview of that time period! It brought back so many memories and made me smile. Am going to pass this along to my son.

I don't feel stuck in the 60's. I have noticed that I often feel bombarded with sensory overload and need to retreat to a quieter place to "dig in the dirt", make bread, knit, sew or quilt. I do have The Beatles on my iPod. :D

I graduated HS in 62 and remember those years well. When my DH isn't in the car, the radio is switched to FM and the best Golden Oldies the world has ever known.

I find it funny that they've been making commercials using that music for years....the kids and grands are amazed I know the words to the songs. LOL
