Thank you for the stroll down memory lane. The sixties were the last "happy times" I remember of my family. After fighting over the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights Movement, my parents were divorced by the mid-seventies, I was sent away from what little home was left, and the direction of my life changed forever.

I don't know that I wish to return to that time, except for the happiness and security I knew as a child then.

I would love to go back to that time...so much fun..Kids now days can't have the fun we had at that time..how sad..my GD loves for me to tell her about that age..I taught her to do the twist and we also did the limbo...well grandma tried to do the limbo..LOL

I still like the music but would never go back to the 60's. I remember too vividly the VietNam War. My brother and husband were there and I will never forget taking them to the airport and our mothers's faces when the plane took off. I remember the news on the TV each night and the weekly get-togethers with my Mother to bake cookies and send the care packages to my brother who was out in the field. No, I live in today and take the lumps where they fall. I am very grateful for what I have now.

I was born in Mid 1961! While I was not GROWING UP during the 60's I still LOVE the movies, the music and the cars from that era!
The 70's were pretty good too, but not like the 60's!

loved my 60s! I actually even loved the music from the 20s/30s when I was a teen - dont know why, loved the big bands and old movies on TV (on one of the 3 channels ABC/NBC/CBS) sharet

I would not want to go back to the 60's for anything! Three assassinations (J. Kennedy, M.L. King, R. Kennedy), Vietnam War (thousands of young men killed), Civil Rights Protests, etc. No way would I want to go back. However, our society did seem to accomplish some better policies: no draft and a bit more equality.

I graduated in the 50's and remember a lot of good things. One of the advancements I could do without is anything that can't just be turned ON or OFF - The new technology isn't for me. AND the TV stations I have no intention of ever remembering their names and the funny part I dont think the younger ones will either/hardly. -- J

Thanks for the post! I was "molded" during the fifties and sixties and I am certainly proud of it! Great memories, wish my children/grandchildren had had the opportunity to grow in times like those. I feel very bad for them today!

really?? my mom told me I was born 50 years too late. sorry to make you all feel old! but I don't care for the music that comes out now, like you said, it all sounds the same! and my dad still laughs when he puts a tape in the car and I start singing along with him bouncing in the front seat!
