I've been using a C&H product that is half sugar, half stevia. It has 5 calories per teaspoon, compared to 16 calories for sugar, and is sweeter, so on top of ingesting less calories, you actually use less sweetener. I've been using it in my morning coffee.

We vacationed in Fla recently and I bought a "Mexican Coca-Cola" made with real sugar and it was ever so much better than our sucrose-sweetened cokes. I was frankly surprised. I know that other countries use real sugar in their cokes also.

I don't use sugar for sweetening coffee, tea or cereal anymore. I use Truvia. I use about 1/2 t for a bowl of oatmeal and it is plenty sweet. Besides it is natural, it has no calories and I like it so much better. I do use sugar in baking but that's all. Try that once. It is really good. Edie

Our taste buds do change, as we age. I use two teaspoons of sugar, in a 12 oz. cup of tea, which I find to be plenty sweet.
Unless one uses a LOT of sugar (or is diabetic), those substitutes may do more harm than good.
