    And I should also be thankful to the deer that munched these asters down at just the right time. Otherwise they would be a foot taller and falling over sideways. It turned out to have been very effective pruning and timed better than I could have done.

    However...

    I will NOT thank the deer for pruning my shrubs last winter!

    I let the little white flowers with the yellow centers grow too. I know they are weeds but they look like tiny daisies. Pretty even if they are weeds!

    I am trying to get up the courage to dig some up by the side of the road. Maybe I should think of it as "rescue" The bad thing is that I have a vanity plate on my car and people would know who it is
