This is my laugh of the day and walk down memory lane.
Oh, if I could only climb up in that raggedy old truck just one more time.

hey- I resemble that remark- we have 1- a 1961 Scout truck. So beat up, but purrs like a kitten. It is all one color- red, but various shades- depends on the paint can used. :)

hubby wanted to put it on the road this past winter- I swore I'd divorce him, I'd be so embarrassed! It is a workhorse though! isn't it funny the things you read on this board......

My dad had a couple of pickups like that, the one I remember most was the one that the doors did not stay closed and it was a shift on the floor. We had to bunge cord the doors and not sit near the edge of the seat going around a corner.
We also owned a truck like that, we took it uptown one day, and as I was stepping to get out from the passenger side my left foot went thru the floor and my right foot was trying to reach the ground outside the door. It was hard to get my leg out without getting cut on the metal and we were laughing so hard we couldn't quite use our brains to figure it out. The kids had to get dad so he could help get mom out of the floor of the pickup.

Oh Denise--I was laughing when I read the Top 10 because I thought someone had seen our farm truck. Now I can't quit after reading your "experience"--giving both posts to the guys-they will ROL too! Happy spring--corn and beans in the ground and hay cutting tomorrow and chopping the next day. G

My son owned an ugly little brown 1977 Ford Pinto. He paid 100 dollars for this tin can. There were many times he wished someone would steal it. He would go to the mall and leave the keys in it. And be disappointed to see it still there waiting for him. Finally, as luck would have it, a rock hauler cut him off and sent him into a concrete barrier. The insurance company totaled the thing......he was so happy!!....lol

When I was in the second grade, my brother bought an old pickup with wood panels on the side. When we stopped at a stop light, the engine fell out.

I ran home I was so embarrassed!

Barb, I LOVE Scouts. My boyfriend is a mechanic, and he works on one for a guy, a 77, I think, and it runs SO good! I always thought it was neat looking, dont see many around anymore!

I had one of them too! A 1969 F150 tank that you had to shoo the goat off to go anywhere! There must be something in that old red paint that holds them together, because the rust wasn't!

I remember driving home from a livestock auction, loaded with turkey poults, and hanging a flashlight out the window when the lights decided not to work any more. We ended up selling it a yard sale.
