Happy Birthday from your other family. there are quite a few of us.
Everyone in my family pretty much remembers my birthday because it's on New Years Day. I always considered that a plus. I try not to miss any of their birthdays but as for more distant relatives it's hit or miss. Maybe I'll remember but not always.

Thanks everyone. I got a card from my brother in Michigan today. He never forgets my birthday, just never gets the card in the mail on time. Now the birthday is in the past and I am ready to move on. My birthday present to myself comes on Friday. I got myself a new dishwasher. Even though I live by myself, I have better things to do than washing dishes by hand; like quilting or some other sewing project. My old one is at least 20 years old and wasn't draining properly; figured it would cost almost as much to get it fixed as getting a new one. And I would still have the rust and stains inside; now I will have a stainless steel interior. Yea!!!!!

Awww I am just reading of being forgotten on your Birthday! That is a crime in itself! I hope you enjoyed your cake and spending time with your puppy dog!

happy belated birthday. I too am the forgotten one. 60% of family parties are held at my home where I provide food drink, special cake, decorated by me..I even do the clean up with only help from a few. the restof the celebrations we travel over 100 miles and still are expected to do the cake and decorating and bring my special dishes. But when my b'day comes only my DH and DD remember. in fact we celebrate birthday WEEK.

happy birthday to all of us everyday. :P :-P :) :-) :D :-D   ;) ;-)

Jacqui,
Some people are givers. Other people are takers. You are a giver and that is a good thing. Bask in your giving spirit and know you are an inspiration to some.

To the people who mentioned Archie Bunker- I LOVED that guy!!
Yeah, he was obnoxious as heck but he was deep down a really good soul. I think he personified a lot of people. I saw my Dad in him and my Dad was well-educated. I saw my FIL in him and he was uneducated. Dad and Dad in law were polar opposites but they each had a bit of Archie in them. That was the magic!
