I love that vest, Kalama! Love what you did with the ties and buttons... and that it doesn't look like it was cut from a quilt! I might have to scour the thrift stores for a tweedy vest like yours and then embellish. Thanks for sharing.

I saved a half dozen and still have them. I do still wear the denim one I saved. So, right now, the jean jacket is the new addition to women's wardrobes. Who would have thought that these would be a fashion statement. (Just bought one for our family camping trip!!!) So let's wear our vests! Much more comfortable than those jean jackets. FYI I am 80 years (Young)!

Ok this isn't quilting, but my GF made my vest and her garb. including a corset. And yes they were hot this summer.
As were the ones at the outdoor wedding I attended Sat in 97 degree heat.

Those bikes were sooooo much better than the bikes that came before. Smoother and faster. And you didn't have to care for them like horses.

I used to wear an 18th century style waistcoat with some of my business suits. As I am broad-shouldered it kept me warm with out having to keep my jacket on. I hate feeling constricted. I now work in the museum/heritage sector in a medieval building with a Georgian interior. The building is very cool even in summer and cold in the winter. This thread has inspired me to make one to wear on public facing days. So much nicer than fleece jackets.

Don't wear maille. It transmits temperature amazingly well. I want your job.

and BTW this started out as an idea for a vest and grew. 1/2 mile of electric fence wire.
