Wow - they are huge and look so healthy. I had mine in a hot place and they didn't do well, so I moved them to a shadier area. They are giving me wonderful little red fruits this year! BUT. . . the deer eat them so bad in the spring I wondered if they would survive. Even the bit of fertilizer the deer ate didn't make up for it by sabatoging my yard every night.

Nice healthy plants! My favorite fruit, and I can only have a couple, allergic to them, get hives, but sometimes I just have to have some!

My Dad use to have them and I know all about the "snake"! We had a couple of plants several years back and got the back yard full of them...DH mowed them down and haven't had any more since. Thinking about putting more out next year!! Granddaughter loves them!

Patty...I don't think that its a rule that strawberries will always have snakes in them...I had them for quite a while and never had a snake

Terri is right. To move them, just dig up the "babies" the little plants that have been shot out from the big ones. They will do just fine. Then you can just pull up the big plants. The big plants won't be producing again anyway..its always the baby ones.

Strawberries and spread like wild flowers. I have always learned to keep strawberries separate from other things. They will spread. Hopefully when I get the garden done the way I want, I will put some strawberries in.
