My daughter gave birth on Friday, to a gorgeous baby boy. She had a dreadful time of it and it ended in a Caesarian, so we're glad it's over and they are both doing well. His name is Gavin, he weighed 9'10", 22" long and is sooo good. For all of you out there who think over 30 is too old to be having a baby, my DD is 46 going on 47. No invitro or whatever, just let nature take its course. DD & hubby are ecstatic! So am I!!

That's one big boy! Congratulations! I was 45 when my one and only was born. What a joyous time they're in for. I was following dd down the sidewalk one day when a neighbor asked how I liked motherhood. "Love it!" I answered, "The only problem is that she can toddle faster than I can waddle."

Congrats!!! And thanks for sharing. I'll be 40 this year and am trying to come to grips with the no baby thing. But both your stories make me feel hopeful for at least a few more years *crossesfingers*

Super! I'm so proud for them. No doubt they'll be wonderful parents with the new baby they have waited so long for.

LOL, my daughter had to stop coloring her hair while she was pregnant and said she felt like a grandma carrying the baby for her daughter, the way people looked at her. She had started going gray in her twenties so had been coloring for quite a time. We were all surprised when that gray grew in.

Awe-Congratulations!! That is awesome. Oh, and c-sections even though are very painful are so worth it. I've had 4 c-sections for all of our 5 kids-we had a set of twins too. :)

    Enjoy lil baby Gavin. :XD:

You can stay hopeful until you are sure you're through menopause. I would think you've got a while to go yet.

That's wonderful! Both our GDs were in that weight range when they were born & are normal size girls now. These are my SD's girls & big babies just run in the family. As for your daughter's age, I think that's wonderful if this is what they both wanted! Enjoy that new little guy, sounds like he is a real blessing, & maybe even their miracle baby!
