Last night I went to a BBQ that I didn't know many people at and the ones I did were the hosts so were busy with other people. I ate more than I should of but stopped early i the evening and tried to find other things to do besides eat. So I feel I made progress. This am. I walked.

Grandma12 just checking in with a progress report...
New scale reading ....259.8
Can I have fire works and a ticker tape parade?
No, I have not had stomach stapling, or lap banding or gastric bi-pass.
So to recap for those of you who are new as of July...
I was recently in the hospital for over 6 weeks, so ill I was revived 4X.
Now to keep me alive, they gave me mega doses of steroid cocktail...comes with side effects.
Am not diabetic along with other not so pleasing things to deal with.
Came home unable to walk without great risk of falling.
So now need a wheel chair, not a cane, or walker.
As of last week, I have a go buggy of my own, well, actually insurance company is only leasing it for me for 14 months...to make sure I will still be alive is one part, and if I am, it is mine forever.
Crazy thing is, my long term (10 years or so) quilt making, doll making BFF who drives me to every doctors appointment, and came with craft supplies at least 2x per week the entire time I was in the hospital, including on her birthday...and did not remind me it even was her BD...took me to a brand new business that just opened it's doors to the public.
The front of the store LOOKS like a small quilt shop...
But like super man, they have another, more important to me function. They invent adaptive devices so that disabled quilters don't have to give up quilting and sewing...
More on that to those that are interested, later.
Seeing me in power scooter, they asked how long I have been a quilter, as well as my friend PattiS...and now I am on thier list as an instructor. No pay check by the hour, just what I can make doing classes. But there as fringe benefits...and I really like that.
I have been left at home, all alone, most days for the majority of the day...leaves me feeling lonely and a bit depressed to be honest. And if I can not make the extra tall step to get out of my bedroom, which used to be a two car garage...I can not get to the kitchen to make myself anything to eat...dangerous for a diabetic. But they have to work...
This way I can get out, sew, possibly be a class instructor for sewing and quilting classes, and also demonstrate the gadgets for those impaired or wheel chair bound. And they have a small kitchen, including refrig. Plus I will not be alone or lonely...
Get to make store samples too...
Did I die and go to Heaven or what?
Down from the ultra depressing 305+ I was when they could finally get me to stand on the scales..know it was considerably higher, just don't know what exactly it was.
Family is here, most of them anyway...to help re-arrange the heavy furniture so that I can get around in "go buggy"...
many hands really do make the work lighter. Later my DH will be grilling out, and we can enjoy the cool of the evening...outside.
I am a member of a Civil War society...but honestly the colors of CW quilts are a bit muddy and sad to me.
So I do not want to be this month's winner. Pretty please with sugar free gum on top? Can we put me on the list to possibly be a winner on a month when they are pretty fall colors, or batiks, or hand dyed, or spring colors? Let someone who really wants to do a Civil War looking quilt win this month?
Hugs, sorry I am not on here posting more often, busy trying to make my life better, or in such pain I am medicated and resting.

It's recipe time again!!!!!
Raisin Popcorn Snack Serves 2 with 3 points per serving.
I thought I would send a twist on popcorn to make it a little bit more of a treat, and change of taste.
4 cps plain popcorn
¼ cp raisins
1 teaspoon honey --- heated
2 teaspoons lemon juice
In a medium bowl combine popcorn, raisins,
Honey, and lemon..
Toss and serve
