Could I suggest that your friend look into some of the wipes that are available? May they be able to use a regular paper for 'normal' usage and maybe cushy wipes for needed times? Just note that there are several reports from the UK particularly about diaper wipes causing huge septic issues in municipal systems there. Just a thought and caution.

I don't know if they still make it or not - but Charmin used to have a Charmin With Lotion - and I thought it was the best I had ever used. HTH

DH will only use Charmin Ultra Strong. I don't personally like it but he insists and so I pick my battles! I use baby wipes for the cleansing after the paper.

I don't know what brand my thick TP was but after a while I had a clogged drain from it so you might want to re-think thicker paper. As I live alone, my plumber told me that I wasn't putting enough water into the drain pipes to wash the TP thru so it eventually clogged. Had him come out twice in one month. So for awhile I was counting how many sheets of TP I used at every "sitdown" for lack of a better term. Sometimes I'd have to use more for one reason or another so flushed between. Never had problems with the TP going down the drain ever just going thru the drain pipes. Boy was that embarressing to talk about..........:-(

Our plumber recommends White Cloud 2 Ply comfort from Walmart, it's the only place that sells it. It doesn't clog up, doesn't rip when using it, it dissolves very quickly.

I tried it based on Consumer Reports article. I was not impressed. It's thin and takes twice as much as Charmin. There might be more sheets but it takes twice as much and it isn't soft.

I think that is why the plumbers suggest a one ply paper...may save issues down the road.

I prefer Great Value's version of Scott 1000. It's much cheaper, last forever, isn't linty, and doesn't stop up the toilet.
I will check out Great Value's version...didn't know they had their own version.
