Saturday night I sang with my community chorus at a Patriotic program in memory of those who died on 9-11-2001. Sunday morning I attended church, where we sang several patriotic songs and pastor preached on "Faith and Hope in the Face of Fear." We were reminded that no matter what the circumstance, we can count on God's being with us to help us through.

Normal day here. 10 years ago got depressed watching the coverage and don't want to go there again. What happened that day was worse than terrible and I won't forget it but I don't want to relive it either. I feel sorry for the families who lost loved ones but we shouldn't morn forever. I feel the media over does its coverage on so many things and this is one. Sorry if I hurt anyone with my little rant.

I worried all day. My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live in NY City. I made them promise not to go down to Central Park. They love going there on the weekend. My SIL works two blocks from the WTC. So he has to go into town today. With all the threats a mother worries.
My husband and I watched several programs on 9/11 and we remembered.

talked to family by phone, went to the county firemans/policeman's remembrance ceremony and processional. had my sister and her family over for chili and cornbread. nothing major here but one couldn't help but give thought to the reason for the somber news/ceremony

I went to church (a wonderful service), came home and took a much needed nap, watched some tv, then football with hubby. We had a nice chance to reflect on that day.
I also worked on quilting a Quilt of Valor.

some coworkers and i volunteered(we all work for Frys Grocery store) at the tucson 9/11 tower challenge. This is where members of law enforcement, fire depts, military any first responders.run or walk up stairs in order to reenact the firefighters climbling the 110 flights of stairs at the world trade centers. It was very moving.there were a couple of firefighters that did the climb in full gear, which if any one knows is very heavy 110lbs.and one man did it in full bomb squad gear
we handed out waters and bananas, apples, oranges granola bars. The runners which numbered over 100 raised money for the wounded warrior project, last i heard donations were over 10,000. it was an awesome day

My anniversary is also 9/11, many years ago. It is hard to celebrate when you watch the tragedy again, so my husband and I choose not to watch the TV coverage on that day. There is so much on, you can't miss it, but I choose to miss it that one day.

I watched and listened as all the names were read during the Memorial Service. There was a time when I had to stop watching the news coverage the weeks afterwards because they kept showing the towers over and over again. At the time my son was 5 and I protected him from knowing/seeing too much. He is 15 now, and I wanted him to see the Memorial service(s). He didn't say much until he started hearing the children talking about wishing they had longer to know their parents. My heart goes out to all the families who lost so much that day.
