I have my dad's souvenier from Germany from WWII, a Mark. I have coins from different parts of the world that were given him in his tip pan at the airport. AND, we were military and gather some.....I wouldn't know what to do with them either, except they are mementos. But, a social studies theme paper on a particular country's monetary system sounds very scholarily. Wow, the ideas you get in good company. You gals are great.

Blessings,
Ruth

If you have any Irish coins, please PM me. I have an idea to use them for jewelry, and there are no more Irish coins. (it's all euros now). I would be willing to pay a little bit for them, and to have them shipped. thanks.

Thanks for the ideas ladies, I guess they probably aren't worth too much. Sorry "Hazeljane", no coins from Ireland, but you did give me an idea - my daughter makes jewelry too, maybe she can use them for something. (Grandchildren are in HS, so probably not very interested in the coins.)

I would mount them on a nice velvet background and put them in a frame. They will make a nice memento of her travels.
