    I put mine in a old medicine bottle with a child proof cap. Then I throw them away safely.

    I have little cases that I got from Fons and Porter for old needles to discard them in. They are plastic and it holds quite a few needles, I think there were two or three cases in a package. That or you can use a piece of cork or the pill container as many others have suggested.
