Beets. I cannot even stand to smell them.

DD brought home a jar of Vegemite made by Kraft from Australia. It is some nasty tasting stuff. She said it was eaten like peanut butter in Australia.

Went to Costco and they had samples of humus. I will try anything once. If anyone can recall the taste of barf, welllllll, humus tastes like that to me. I almost barfed before I could swallow it. And people were saying how good it is. Is it me?

I've been catching up, sitting here reading this thread, nodding & laughing!
I'm a bit of a picky eater - food allergies will do that to you....
Don't care for fresh Poisonous Wolf Peaches (known as tomatoes to some of you), but I do like sun-dried ones. Can't stand the smell or taste of liver. And I can tell you the last time I ate a brussel sprout: I was probably 8 yrs old. I had to stay at the table until I finished my dinner, which, that night, included one brussel sprout. Well, my Dad had some pals coming over to play cards & needed the table, so he finally paid me 50 cents to eat it - he handed me the money & I swallowed it whole! lol
I love artichokes! But talk about someone who was hungry - the guy that ate the first one....
My tastes have changed some with age too. Never liked avocados as a kid, but do now. I used to like sliced beets (not pickled) from a can, but now I only like the fresh ones, with a little butter, salt & pepper.
I cook with onions, but can't eat them without a lot of pain, and no walnuts or pecans either - instantly they blister my tongue.

There were several things mentioned that I don't like, but the worst thing I ever ate was calf brains in scrambled eggs!. My DGM made them and was yum yumming about how good they were. I should say, I didn't eat then. I couldn't force myself to swallow the first taste. My dear GM laughed and laughed!!
