I am using 100% rayon embroid. thread. It did not take me long to figure out about the stabilizer. (I wasn't sure if it was all fabrics or just the ones I tried to use.) But I also figured out that the bobbin thread must be different. I used the emb. thread and had a mess. I switched to the thread they sent with the machine & had much better success. Do I have to use what they sent & find more, or is there a particular type that I can purchase locally? I finally completed 1 project that I was not ashamed of last night. Also, if you don't mind sharing, are there any tricks for the automatic threader? Mine worked fine, then I broke a needle. Since then it has not worked. I appreciate any help you can offer. Or if you have any websites that share tips. Thanks so much for responding.

My GD planned to move in with me Nov.1. I was on a nine day trip to Boston the first of October. GD decided to move in a month early. My son helped her clear out the two rooms she's going to use. I came home. I can't find anything. My other bedroom packed to the door. My sewing room in a shambles and about the only thing I can still find are the dogs and cats. At least they make noise. I love her dearly so I will survive. Christmas for 2012? All the stuff I couldn't find or finish in 2011. At least I have a good start.

I have been working on a star quilt tutorial, cause I was feeling down in the dumps, at the end of my thread, sad sorrowful and all that sad crapola, so a star quilt tutorial has been started, I am almost to the sewing, and I forgot I was feeling blue.

i think most people are like me, looking for a site like the old board. hate this new format. i really miss seeing the nice big avatars when you opened a post. hate having to click so many times to open something. why didn't they just change the fonts and background to the present one and leave the rest alone? very seldom spend time on the board, used to spend too much. find i'm getting more done now. if anyone finds a site like the old one please post it. connie

I am finally getting used to this board, I do miss the many people that used to post on here. I think if we just try and work through it will turn out to be a good board like the last one was. It will take more people posting though, as it is so quiet on here now. Why not join us and enjoy what we all have going and see if we can't make this the best place on the net again.

Ditto! I've even stopped working on my quilt. Just can't get back into it.

I can't say "like most people" as I have no young kids at home anymore. I've been cleaning up after Christmas, putting the few decorations I had up/out away again, tidied up my sewing area, cleaned out the cottage where we live then cleaned out the pantry.

Have been looking at the 3 round robin centres I have in my possession and trying to decide what to do with them. Made a start on the most urgent one yesterday afternoon and hope to finish it this week as we hope to be back in building mode by the end of the month which means my sewing time will be curtailed a little.

Have read quite a few comments about the board changes, these make no difference to me as I didn't know how to use most of the features for the old board let alone this new one so i still do what I was initially anyway.

Been shopping the fabric sales. Also have been working on organizing my sewing/craft room--seems like an endless task, but I'll get there! Haven't had time to do much sewing lately, but will have time to start soon!
