Who has an etsy store?

I listed one quilt and almost got scammed. They said, "I really want to buy your quilt. I'll pay you more than you're asking, just cash the check and keep the extra for postage and....", blah, blah, blah, blah. I checked with the bank and they said that even though the customer was sending a cashier's check, it could bounce and I would be up for the several hundred dollars, not to mention I would be out the quilt. I haven't listed anything since.
There is also the problem that everyone who leaves a remark about it creates an email. What a pain.
I'm not saying not to do it - just be careful. Probably would only be good to do PayPal.

The scam you're talking about is a very common scam & not only found on etsy. Just a part of life - we have to always be on the lookout for people who want to make money without an investment of personal creativity.

I do, too. I started it after encouragement from my daughter, who has used some of the things for give-aways on her blog (http://chambanachik-live.blogspot.com/) She has another coming up in early December.
My shop:

I hope to get busy and add something interesting soon.
