So funny that you posted this. I haven't thought of them in years and I was traveling somewhere lately where we saw a sign for green stamps. It was a blast from the past - I remember my mom collecting them and then I think there was a store you could go to redeem them. They were discontinued when I was fairly young so the memories are pretty vague but I do remember them.

I remember we kids got the "fun" of pasting them into the books. Does anyone remember the Jewel Tea Company?? I remember a truck that came to my Aunts house every few weeks and my aunt, GM and I sat and went thru a book and ordered all kinds of stuff and most of it was on the truck (groceries, and drygoods -) sharet

Definately remember them. I dreamed of being old enought to be a cashier and "dial" the amount into the mahcine that dispensed them. Can still hear that sound if I close my eyes!

Kitse on page 2 ... you became an urban legend!

suebee on page 3 .... did your parents hang out with Kitse???

as a newly wed in the middle 60's, I got several things from trading in my S&H green stamps -- pair of pictures, a candlestick table, and a few other items -- there were also some pink stanps

I don't remember using them, but I have quite few of my Great-Grandmothers...along her antique hair pin, antique box of bobby pins, and her change purse she kept pinned to her apron- buckeye and stamps still in it :)
