My son has a one person business - he services businesses to take care of all their computer problems, including installations, installing software, selling hardware, etc - any way he has reached the point he could use a person to answer the phone, do some simple debugging, etc. He would prefer the person to come to his office but could probably arrange for someone to do this at their home. No customers involved. Most smaller cities have businesses like this that are at the point they could use someone who could work for them but they haven't grown to the size they need to rent office space in a building. You need to locate the business and talk to the business owner. They probably can't offer benefits, but then you could work at home, no work wardrobe, no travel expenses, etc. Maybe a win/win for some of you.

Are you looking only for business opportunities or are you okay with home-based jobs as well? The difference between the two is that a job is something you do for others and get paid for it, while a business is what you do for yourself. Another difference is that you don’t pay money to get a job (at least the legitimate ones), while a business needs a set-up cost. But for most specialized work-at-home jobs, you will need some kind of vocational training to begin with. You can look at Career Step's website for vocational training courses if you are looking out for a job - http://www.careerstep.com
Now that you know the difference between the two, you can decide what will work better for you – a home-based business or a work-from-home job!
