Thanks for that interesting info. I now have a new respect for the lady. She was one of my Dad's favorite and now mine too.

Who'd have guess that about a big mouthed crazy woman who seemed to just be the funniest person alive at the time?
I loved her performances, but I'd never have guessed she went further in life than just being funny!

Wow I never knew this and my husband was stationed at Fort Bragg years ago. How wonderful that she stepped up like that. I just can't see any of the stars doing this these days.

Thank you Ditter for sharing that about Martha. You're right that was sure something I didn't know about her but I can sure see what it would have been like being a nurse under her command. Professional when needed and the humor would come at the right time to break the stress and tension when the crisis was over. Thank you again for sharing this. :thumbup:
