Ok...if you ask me where I am from...my gut instinct is to say North Carolina...although I haven't lived there for a long time...it is still in my soul.

But now I live in Massachusetts, married a New England boy and nothing is going to move him from here.

so if you over look the high cost of living here, the traffic nightmares, the snow (as we say here, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute), and politics, this is a great place to live.

Things I love:

I am within 1/2 drive to a beach or mountain.

There are passionate people here (medicine, education, art, sports and of course politics)

Our Fall foliage is so beautiful, you just know it was painted by the hand of God.

Most important of all, it is where my family is now. And that is where the heart is.

I am Texan through & through and darn proud of it! Yes, my sweetheart is "Darlin'" and my sons (22 & 24) both get called "Sweetie." Everytime I visit another state and am heading home, just crossing that state line back into Texas puts a huge smile on my face. In fact, there have been a few times I would have gotten out and turned a few cartwheels...if I was 20 years younger...and actually knew how to do cartwheels...okay, so I couldn't, but that's what I felt like doing. LOL!

I used to work for an international company and worked directly with guys that traveled routinely. One of them told me that it is funny how when an American is asked overseas where he is from, most will say "America" or "US." Unless, the American happens to be from Texas. Then the answer is always "Texas!"

We also had a lot of visitors from overseas and the majority of them wanted to go shopping for Wrangler Jeans, cowboy boots and cowboy hats. They would often either bring empty suitcases with them or buy suitcases to take all of their new "Texas treasures" home.
