our dog shih tzu doesn't like them, but last night he heard them so I took him outside to see them and now he doesn't get scared, he knows what the noise was (really it worked)

I picked him up and told him ooh so pretty, look and he enjoyed them, he is so funny
I kept talking to him and rubbing his head and he calmed down.

My cat doesn't seem to be bothered by them. But if they are too loud or too many, I notice she will sit in my lap and purr. Same with thunder if it is too close.

None of mine are worried about it.

Deathly, afraid.

I've tried all the tips. As I said, it would be easier to deal with if there was an end in sight. It is a constant thing for at least five hours. If the money spent on firecracker in our neighborhood was used to house and feed a needy family, the family could be fixed for an entire year, seriously.

My Aussie shepard Aussie cattle dog mix Puma is terrible, if we are shooting off bottle rockets she will jump up and catch them, we shut her in the house and she jumped through the screen. When the guys go out to target practice I have to lock her in my sewing room, I am afraid she will try to catch the bullets!

Chihuahua Sweet Tater hides under the recliner and Spud Muffin just hangs out, no problems.

When my Jonah (avatar) was a wee puppy, I was walking him on fireworks evening. Some kids ran up to him and threw firecrackers at him. They exploded and so did Jonah, we ran with him draging me all the way home. To this day, 7 years later, he jumps into the bed or hides under my chair when there is thunder or fireworks. Poor sweet darling.

The Kitty Committee is more afraid of motorcycles that zoom down the street than they are fireworks. Motorcycles are louder, I guess. Which is interesting, because you can run a vacuum right by Furby and he's not afraid, but he'll bolt if a motorcycle wakes him up.
