Have to reply to this one. I told my husband I wanted stuff for the house. I received a set of plain towels. 2 towels 2 wash cloths and 2 hand towels. ALL wrapped in seperate boxes.
He is my EX husband.
Now you know the rest of the story! LOL

Also to those of you that have gotten various appliances, you should have followed my sister-in-laws' example. She told her husband. "If it comes with a cord, it is an appliance not a present."
You have to be a little careful there - sewing machines also come with a cord ;-) I don't think too many people here would turn down a sewing machine as a present, lol.
I have placed an amendment to the rule. It can be overturned by my request but it had better be exactly what I asked for.

The absolute worst was an ugly piece of driftwood that was suppose to be a work of art from a local artist. It had a special name plaque on it which made it even worse. The annoying thing was that it was from a husband/wife studio and their other speciality was wonderful unique wooden clocks. Why couldn't he have picked the clock? It was even cheaper!

I can think of two times my husband really blew it. When we were first together, well, he is/was an athlete, and I am not. He always had really cool workout clothes, and I thought (silly me) that maybe if I had some cool clothes maybe I'd be more inclined to be active. So I asked him for a sweat suit.

He got me a pair of basic, gray, baggy sweats. Couldn't have been more unromantic or uninspiring.

Some years later, I told him I wanted a bracelet, but I really wanted a bangle, because I DID NOT want a chain bracelet. Yep, I got a chain -- because bangles were too expensive. I cried that time, but I wore that darn chain until it broke (finally).

On the bright side, he remembered a ring I had liked in a jewelry shop and got one for me (custom made) some 10 years later on a big birthday. He gets top marks for that. And he bought me a beautiful inlaid necklace (looks like a quilt almost) while he was on a golf trip in Hawaii. I didn't feel he owed me anything, but I guess he did.

All in all, he's a keeper!

I got a shiny new 42", zero-turn riding lawn mower one year for my birthday! I figure since the lawn mower is mine, I can tell others when and how I want them to use it! :oD
