THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - It is really fun to be so warmly greeted. And thank you for your reassurances. I don't really feel guilty but I would so love to learn more about enjoying that part of the process. I'm assuming many (most? some?) of you know about quiltuniversity.com, which offers GREAT on-line classes. I'm about to start the one on machine quilting. it begins tomorrow, so take a look. AND there are lots of other subjects taught. A wonderful, friendly resource.

Hi, and welcome from St. Louis. Keep us posted on your class from Quilt Universtiy. I have never taken a class from them, but get their newsletters and course offerings. Have taken live classes from some of their instructors!
I like to piece and LOVE to pick out fabrics! I like to hand quilt WHEN I AM IN THAT MOOD! I volunteer with the ladies at church and we hand quilt two days a week from 9 until 3! If you can quilt in a group, it is much more enjoyable!
YOU ARE A QUILTER!

Hi from Upper Michigan! (I will actually be near Chicago in a few months for a wedding.)
And I totally agree with you! I really dislike the quilting part, but love the rest. I have 5 quilt tops to be quilted right now, and I really need to just make myself do it. I tried a week or two ago, and now I am ripping it all out.
I took a class at my LQS a few years ago, but then never did it until now. Anyway, my first stippling attempt did not go well. I guess I'll try doing some straight lines when I get the stippling ripped out. I am using a "practice" quilt I made for the back of our couch so I am not going to ruin anything overly expensive.
I wish I could afford to send all of my quilts to a longarmer, but I just can't justify the expense, especially since I have quit my job to be a SAHM. If I ever go back to work, I will start sending them out again.
