Been looking at everyones quilts for months now and have the guts maybe to seek some advise. First I'm Monica from Murfreesboro, TN. Now I'm going to just jump in and ask, I have this sewing machine that has been in storage for maybe 4 years. It has gotten really dirty and I would like somw advise on how to clean it.

Hello and welcome from Ontario. There are lots of members here that should be able to help, but I am not one of them.

Monica, if your machine is an older machine (feather weight, 301, 99 from Singer) Billy (Lostn51) has a given us a free tutorial in his 'Vintage' area. Go to "home" at the top of the page and at the very bottom you should find the 'Vintage' area. Also, he is usually the 'go to' guy for machines.... Good luck and Welcome!

Really new at this I guess, i went to the top and clicked on HOME and it took me to another screen. I went to the bottom of the page but could not find a Vintage area. Did I look in the wrong place? Hate to be a bother just really want to know if my machine is still ok to use. Thanks for your help.

Search "vintage sewing machine". Or look for Lostn51-that's Billy, vintage machine expert. If it's not that old, take in for a professional servicing if you can afford it. What brand and model is it? Welcome, btw! Everyone is new at some point. This is a warm, helpful and kind group. You'll love it here.

    Welcome from TN.
If you can find the model or serial/registration # that will make it easier to help you.

Since you live in Murfreesboro, you might check with MidSouth Sewing there. They are great to work with and can give you some advice I bet.

I live in Jasper, outside Chattanooga, and welcome you to the board!
