Hello, Friends! I've been quilting about 2 years now. I love piecing and have taught myself some basic machine quilting stitches. Am about to upgrade my sewing machine to have a bigger throat space so I can work on larger quilts. I love rich colors and interesting geometric designs in my quilts. Looking forward to all I can learn from fellow quilters!

Welcome to the group! Can't tell you how much I learned from being a member of the Quilt Board. When I decided to upgrade my sewing machine I went to the big local quilt shop and tested the Janomes and bought the MC6600P, which is my main quilting machine (this was about 12 years ago). At the time I had no interest in fancy stitches and was most concerned about the throat size. Now I really like using fancy stitches and even invested in an embroidery/sewing machine. But all that aside, buy a machine that fits in your budget and stretch as much as you can because quilters do tend to push themselves into new projects.
And try to keep your older machine, you never know when you may need a backup. Enjoy, and again, WELCOME!
