    Good evening fron the UK....

    Hi everyone

I'm a 40 something mum with 2 sons who is finally realising a long held dream of learning to quilt.
I currently working full time in a demanding & full filling career in mental health and I'm raising to wonderful sons with my ever patient husband.

Ever since I was given a cantankerous, vintage Brother machine over 20 yrs ago I have wanted to create beautiful things that make people feel loved and happy. Quilting has fasinated me with its long history and the interpretations people bring to their work.

Up until recently I hadn't found the time or space to get going with grasping my dream and start quilting. As we had a bit of a move round at home and a small room has become free, so quick as a flash I called dibs on it and so begins my quest to quilt and my reason for saying hi from North Yorkshire, UK.

I may ask some obvious and nutty questions but I hope you'll be gentle with my newbie ambitions!
look forward to hearing from you all
    much love

    Mags

Welcome to the board from Illinois, with a part time home in Essex England. Yorkshire is near the top of my list of places I like.

You will find a lot of inspiration and help here on the board.
May your stitches always be straight, your seams always lie flat, and your grain never be biased against you.

Hello everyone, what a lovely welcome from you all and from such exciting locations!

I have spent some time living in Florida and Australia so it's a real treat to feel the reconnection to places I've created happy memories in.

Im a bit of a night owl, it's so peaceful when everyone is sleeping so the time difference works well!
I hope you're all having a great day!
    Much love

I haven't had a room to myself for about 20 yrs so I'm really excited! I think the walls might have to be made of elastic as the amount of things I want to do and keep in there is perhapes getting a bit much! ,

Ive been checking out some of the pictures others have posts of their rooms and they've motivated me to get the decorating under way so I can move in.

I'm currently in the process of researching a new machine and I think I'm settled on a Bernina 330, so now I'm just trying to raise the funds to finance such a lovely but expensive machine. I want to make other home items like cushions etc so having tried all the main brands this was 'the one'. I have half the cost saved but as the Bernina is twice the price of my saved budget I'm going to have to get selling on EBay!

    Love
    Mx

Hi Mags from Washington State which is on the West Coast of the US of A!

Last week I sent off a needlecase to CarolinePaj (her real first name and board name) in Bury St Edmunds. She has hosted two needlecase swaps on the board here. Here is the last one that is just finishing up.

Hope you enjoy the board and you certainly will find all of the help you need, if you just ask.

Hello and welcome from Lincolnshire. I can say from personal experience that the members here are not only very welcoming but extraordinarily kind and helpful to us newbies. I'm sure that will learn lots and be as encouraged as I have been.
