    Greetings from The Bluegrass

    Hi fellow quilters,
After lurking for about a week, I have decided to jump in.
I have been an avid quilter since 2000. I actually learned the process backwards.
I was taught to hand quilt then I learned to do piecing and applique. I had never touched a
sewing machine in my life! Anyway, after a four year break due to divorce, work, and moving.
I have jumped back in to my favorite hobby and am tackling some of my UFOs.
I look forward to interacting with everyone and learning new things along the journey.
I tend to lean more toward traditional patterns, scrappy items, and an unhealthy passion for
    reproduction fabrics.
I wish everyone well and hope to make lots of new friends.

    Love from Kentucky,
    Robyn

p.s. I am only an hour away from Paducah, which can be a dangerous thing

Welcome from Wisconsin! I too started out hand quilting, but it's not because I couldn't sew. I just couldn't get anything to match up when I used the machine.

Welcome from SC Texas. My DM only hand quilted and so beautifully. I on the other hand only have machine quilted as I could never sit that long to hand quilt. So happy you joined us.

Welcome from OHIO! I shudder to think how much trouble I'd be in if I only lived an hour from Paducah!

Welcome Robyn! I too hand piece and hand quilt. I also trend toward reproduction fabrics and favor the scrappy look. Thanks for sharing. I hope you enjoy your time on the board.

In Paducah please go see the mural on the wall at the River. It was painted by Robert Dafford from The Lafayette, Louisiana area. Glad you joined us. This is a fun family to belong to. Hugs

Thanks Robyn! Glad you introduced yourself. I wanted to share an Etsy vendor that I have purchased from several times called TimelessCalico (i have no affiliation to this vendor). The woman sells reproduction fabric scraps in assorted colors or shirting fabrics. I like having a variety of fabrics without having to ask for small cuts at the cutting counter. Also, I found a thimble I love to hand quilt with called Comfort Thimble (again no affiliation). I am glad you have picked up quilting again and are working on UFOs. I began to quilt a little over a year ago and I have been bitten by the bug. Glad I'm not that close to Paducah although I hope to visit the area someday. I was introduced to English Paper Piecing this weekend and am interested in trying it out soon, yet another handwork project.
