Hi.
Im a fairly new quilter, only a couple of years experience, though I am only 25. I live in Shropshire, UK. I dont have as much time to quilt as I'd like, and cant really make it to proper quilt groups since I work full time and study part time, but I would be interested in making friends and swopping stories online.
Thanks
Sarah :)

Welcome to quilting home!

I looked up Shropshire and was informed it is"one of England's most rural and sparsely populated counties" as well as on the border of Wales.

Being from a hugely metropolitan area, (San Fransisco Bay area, in California), I hunger for large open spaces. We do have them, but. . .

It must be beautiful out there. Is it green all the time or is your area like ours and we have a green and brown season. Winter and Summer respectively.

I really admire that you are working and studying! What are you studying and will you stay there when your done? (I'm not nosy, merely interested.) sorry for spelling, etc.

I actually live in the largest town in Shropshire, Shrewsbury, so it doesnt seem that rural, but its really quick to get to proper open spaces. The Long Mynd area is really pretty, but its also less than an hour to drive to Birmingham, the second city. Seasons tend to be green and green, since round here its mostly dairy farming, so grass fields. Some areas have yellow and brown for summer and winter, for the cereal crops and bare ground. I admit I do like the space though, whatever colour it is.

I work in hydrogeology, and am doing a part time masters in Applied Hydrogeology. I hope to specialise in groundwater modelling. Quilting is my sanity break, when I get chance, although a few of those have a watery theme!

I'll try to photograph my few completed pieces and post the photos. I admit I tend to have several WIPs!

Hi Sarah! My name is Karen and I'm a Brit too! I live in South Yorkshire and you've just found yourself the friendliest place around! lol!
I only started quilting this year, and I lurked on here for ages before I joined. I do hope you'll stay as I'm sure everyone would like to get to know you better!

Hi Sarah, welcome aboard. Glad you joined! Isn't it amazing how varied our cultures, ages, ethnicities and even religions are and yet here we are, all getting along like best school friends! I love it! Maybe our politicians should all have to take a quilting class! lol!

Hi Sarah, I grew up in Stourbridge, now living in Dudley, so I think you are my nearest Quilting Board buddy! Are you going to the Quilt show at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern in Nov?
