Hi from N. Calif. My son is leaving for Brisbane on Wednesday for a 3 week vacation. He's looking forward to seeing all those creatures you mention. Any quilt shops you can recommend I tell him to stop at? I understand fabric is rather pricey there.

hi,
I live in the beautiful area of the Cassowary Valley wedged between Mt Molloy range and the coast near Port Douglas, Nth Queensland , Australia. Just two nights ago my daughter saw a cassowary while driving home at night. I forgot to mention the Cassowaries. They are a large beautiful bird something the size of an emu. They are endangered and mainly get wiped out by the tourist buses, ironicly. They need a vast area to breed in and the wild pig, { I forgot to mention them too!} destroy their eggs. They help reforest the rainforest by eating the seeds from the trees and relocating them. There are some nice quilts made with them as the feature.
regards Nola from wild downunder.
