SharonM, I love your avatar. I have days I feel like my avatar, well, I did when I was younger, lol, but now, have some days that feel like yours. Tired, bedraggled, bedhead, grab the bag and go!...speaking of bags...I don't go in convenience stores with hubby no more - If they ask if he wants a bag...he points to me and says, "already got one!!"
we were crossing road one time, and lady slowed down and stopped and he rushed across ahead of me and pointed at me and said, "two points if you nail her!" whatcha gonna do with a man like that????? :D

Where do you go for real quilt fabric. Since "My Favorite Quilt Shop" closed its doors I've had to go to Trenton (Suwanee Valley Quilt Shop) but it's a bit of a drive. Do you belong to one of the Alachua County quilt guilds? It was nice to hear from you. 8)

Hi Bev,
I am the founder of The Tree City Quilt Guild, and The Alachua Day Guild is a spin off from the night (Tree City). I am so proud that they are both still functioning and growing and work so hard for others aswell! I haven't been 'active' in quilt groups for a while, I maintain my membership and go to meetings about two or three times a year. I took time to get my degree in Architecture and then found out I had Fibromyalgia and ended up on disability. I facilitate a Buddhist meditation group and have to watch my activity. My energy gets low...My mom was my quilt partner for many years (I tricked her into making her first quilt!) and when she passed away nine years ago it took me a long time to start quilting again. I want to be more active with quilting again and have put it as one of my priorities along with the Sangha (Meditation group). I have gone to Orlando several times for Buddhist retreats, but unless I stay over night it is a hard trip to do in one day. Getting to Trenton is probably the same for you.

Trenton is the best...there realy is no way around it. Aren't there any good shops in Orlando or St. Pete?

Namaste is a Buddhist, Indian greating or blessing, like saying bless you, hello, , I has many meanings. It is usually accompanied with a bow and with a gesho, the hands together, as if in prayer.

Hey Marty Girl:
For some odd reason I was just notified about your Apr. 8th message. I wonder if I'm going a little batty or what's happening? To answer your question, yes Trenton isn't a drive I'd want to make every day. But there are people who live in Trenton and work in G'ville, so I guess it's just me. I simply hate driving. Getting worse as I grow older. For that reason, I don't drive to Orlando or St. Pete., but I think Suwannee Valley is terrific, anyhow. I'm so glad we have a "day guild" here now, the night one was always impossible for me. Nice to meet the actual founder of the night guild. How about emailing me? I'd like to talk more with you.
