I am a fairly new quilter. Started quilting to make a quilt for my daughter that includes her 12-years in dance school. It is coming out great!!! Reading all of your suggestions on basting is great. I had no idea how to do it - so I placed all three layers on the rug (didn't attach to rug) and used large safety pins. It took awhile, but now I am hand quilting it. Thanx for all your suggestions.

Thank you all very much. This is a treasure for me and my daughter. She is in college now, and she actually had to write a paper for her English class about an artist -- and she picked me and our quilt! The paper told everything she felt about the quilt - it means more to her than I could ever imagine it would. I just can't wait to finish it. I will need some tips on binding when I get there. Can anyone offer suggestions? Thank you very much!!!!
