I sometimes run into the hand quilter that hand pieces and hand quilts and they seem to think only their method it a true quilt but I love the machine sewing and having them quilted they are so practical everyone uses them everyday and they wash well and some are almost 20 years old and still look fresh. I do hem the binding down by hand that is all the hand work mine have received. So enjoy your machine work it is going to be an heiloom some day. :D
