Hi and Welcome. I used to start beginners with a 9 Patch. You learn a lot frome this block. Like acurate cutting, the 1/4 inch seam. How to match the seams and pin them. The trick is the nesting of the seam so they lay right next to each other. It is very rewarding. Color makes this fun. Also you can make the block into a pot holder if it does not please you. I have taught children as young as 5 how to quilt. Look at the quilt magazines at your local store. Most all have a section devoted to learning to quilt. All of us on here are willing to help. Marvel
