Actually, originally from northern CA; born and raised. Been in the south since 1999, and do miss CA - mountains, ocean close by, hiking, biking, camping. Middle TN is a pretty area, but these summers are killers! But some areas are quite pretty. I'm a quilter, collector (and use) the old sewing machines - treadles and hancranks. 99% of my quilting is done on a treadle or handcrank. I'm already on one of the groups here, swapping 4 patch blocks! Looking forward to being part of this community. :) Diane

hi Diquilts! I'm also in tennessee (just outside of nashville), originally from san francisco! I've been living in the south since 1982. (We northern california people Never get used to these summers! lol...) I have my grandmother's old singer treadle machine - but I've never sewn on it. Oh... and welcome to this site - it's a wonderful resource.
