I am a beginner who has made 2 Christmas tree skirts and have promised my granddaughter ( who just left for college) that I would make her a tee shirt quilt. I have begun adhering blocks to backing and believe I want to make them 12" blocks?I am thinking that strips the length of the quilt would be the best way to go. I will need to add fabric to bring the tee shirt blocks to 12 " . Can anyone give me some pointers on what to do next and is that the best/simplist way to begin> Thanks. Marcia

I think you are on the right track and have it under control. Usually the blocks are large and at least 12". Good luck. Look forward to seeing the quilt completed.

Welcome from Idaho! I have never made one because I don't have t-shirts, but I have always wanted to.

Hello and welcome from Brandon, Mississippi! Sorry, can't help you with the t-shirt quilt. I have no idea how to even start one. I've heard they are great gifts, tho----especially for college student.
