Hi and help me please about my love Singer 319W
Hi,
I'm french and i live in Montreal so excuse my english...
I have a Singer 319W since some month and i like this machine for my first time in sewing. I want to explore another way with it but i have some needle 206x13 (12 and 14) and i need 18 or other for hard fabric. And the 15x1 needle attack the stock bobbin case...
I read that exist some bobbin case, as the original 319W bobin case, but open and not closed like mine, some alternative bobbin case. But i don't have the reference of them, like Riccar or common industrial bobbin.
I ask for that because i don't have the tool to adapt/modified my case.
Thank you so much
Geraldine

Hi -- please go to this forum http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...thusiasts-f22/ and copy and paste your question again. There are a few people, esp manicmike from Australia, who know a lot about the 319. I bought one myself just a few days ago.
There are pros and cons regarding altering your existing bobbin case. You could possibly buy a second one to alter and use with the shorter needles. However, some say you also need to change the timing, and that is not such a good idea. Anyway, Mike is the guy to ask. :-) . He had his bobbin case altered with no ill effect..
I did see some size 16 206-13 needles somewhere today but I believe they were $20 a pack.

See you on the other forum :-)
