Hello from Ontario, Canada (and Fort Myers, Florida in the winter!) - being an experienced crafter, you will likely just fall right into this new passion. But quilting does take time, and you will need to have patience with yourself.

It's so neat that your daughters want to be involved! My sisters are 8 and 10 years older than me (and I'm 60!! :? ), and through the years we have not had all that much in common. But now that we share the passion of quilting, our familial bond is stuck like glue!!

Welcome from Alabama. You will get some great tips from the quilters on this board. Just wanted you to know how much I love your country! I have a pen pal in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
