Hi Jeanne! Welcome from Southern California! As you can see already, you will get tons of support and information from this site! However, like most of us, you will spend so much time (well-spent, that is) being entertained and taught and inspired, that you won't get much else done!!! LOL

Thanks Jill - we are getting ready to leave on a trip - can't hardly concentrate on it. This is so fun.
Later - happy quilting.

Hello and welcome from SW Iowa. Glad to have you here. You sure can wrap the back around to the front for the binding.

Hi and welcome from Grand Rapids, MI. Isn't it awesome to feel comfortable enough with a group to start right off asking questions? (I lurked for about 3 months before I joined and dared to make a post). I use this method for binding smaller quilts all the time.

Welcome from Southern Virginia. And yes you can do a binding but it won't wear as well as a double fold binding. Check the Search feature here for binding.
