Welcome from northern ND! I found that one of the best things I did when I retired from teaching was to join my local weekly church quilting group. We make tied quilts for charity and I learned the basics, gained enough confidence to read, study, and start on my own blankets and quilts. I don't have a lot of experience or time, but I will never give up this addiction!

Welcome from northeast Nebraska to wherever you are 'in hiding'. Sewing is addictive enough, but quilting is even worse. tee hee You will love this QB and feel free to ask any question because there always seems to be someone out there with an answer.

Welcome from Wisconsin. I've started quilting a yr ago. I did have sewing in high school Oh... many years ago. I learned from reading quilt books. It's all there at your finger tips. Then you have to keep on quilting and sooner or later we'll get it.

Thanks again ladies. I just found out that my local school district will not be offering beginning sewing classes in the evenings. Apparently the budget shortfall here in Texas affected the availability of evening classes...boo! Oh well, I guess I will hit our local sewing/quilting shops for classes.
