Hi Ya'll From Texas

Howdy! We live not too terribly far from you (by Texas standards that is). And yes...the wildflowers are awesome aren't they?!
Welcome to the board. I'm actually a very newbie quilter (only on my second one) but am finding lots of useful information here and TONS of encouragement by just looking at everyone's beautiful creations! You might want to google quilting frames and see what you come up with. There are so many out there that are great and I think would be w/c accessible. If you have a local quilting group they might also be a good resource. I went to my first 2 weeks ago and found the women to be very friendly and willing to help with so much. If you need help just getting the layers together and up on a frame I bet someone would love to come over and help. Once it's all set up then you could quilt from your w/c.
Happy quilting!

Hi Patsy! Welcome from South Central Texas. I agree that the wildflowers are beautiful, but not the summer heat -- I am a displaced Yankee and miss the Springtime and Autumn.
Anyone going to the Houston Quilt show?

Welcome from "on the road", which means Michigan at the moment. I am the mother of an Aggie (who might have a winning team some year soon). Raised in Houston area and just got back from spring at my parents enjoying the bluebonnet trail. Use it for my wallpaper when I need a little brightening up. You might try doing some quilt as you go blocks. Although they are made for machine quilting, I'm sure you can adapt them to your individual needs. Let me know how it goes. I'd be willing to try it, just hadn't thought of it til now. Being on the road I do a lot of hand quilting.
