How about a scrappy 9 patch. it would be fast and simple and coordinated all at the same time. Post a picture of your project (when you learn how). I had the hardest time and then I felt like you can teach an old dog a new trick after all.

Welcome from CT, google quilts and there are free patterns maybe it will give you some ideas. Also if you took a picture of your work we might have a better idea once we see the colors
