A big welcome to the board from Washington State. You're going to love it here! Hope that warm weather gets to you soon, but in the mean time I'd take advantage of being snowed in and get a lot of quilting done!

Welcome aboard. Where in WI are you located. I am in the SW corner near Prairie du Chien. Yes, I love the melting snow and the thoughts of warmer weather. I try to hibernate in the winter.

Hi Barb, I'm in the Southwest corner too, just a little Northeast of Prairie in Blue River. I have two daughters that live in Prairie du Chien.

I thought I'd get a lot of sewing done this winter too, but my health hasn't cooperated and I haven't done too much. Maybe in the future.

Od course, I know where Blue River is! Look me up on my webpage. Also, email me your name privately if you want. We may cross paths at sometime.

I used to teach a lot of classes at the Pickett Fence in PDC but don't anymore because of time.

My family is from Blue River! Small world we have . I Haven't been back there in many years. I remember sitting on my GGMs enclosed front porch, wrapped in a quilt, eating popcorn and watching the snow fall. She is the reason I quilt.
Welcome to the board, there are great people and they are all so helpful.

My GG parents were Lizzie and Purley Dingman, they lived in a 1918 house that they built in town. My parents were both born & raised in Blue River: Mom was Mary Dalton, Dad was Gerald Kincannon, Good friends there were the Wallers (literally a crazy bunch) who used to have the hotel in BR. I think I still may have Kincannon cousins in the area.

I know the Dingman name and I knew Dora Waller that owned the Hotel and she was crazy. I'm not sure there are any Kincannon's around any more, the house a block away once belonged to a Kincannon . Were you related to Barbara Chitwood, she was a Dalton. My husband remembers Lizzie and Purley Dingman and Marion and Jim Kincannon. He said Purley had a mink farm. Anyway, we'll have to talk more.

Thanks for the welcome, I had a brother in Salem for quite a few years, and an Aunt in Union, but they're both gone now. But it's very pretty country.
