Hi Ardiegg,

Welcome from Upstate New York! I'm new to the board too. I found it be accident and am so glad I did. So many nice people, beautiful quilts, and recipes too!

By the way, 65 is the new "middle-age" so, you're not "old" yet :)

Thrift stores and Salvation army is such a great place to find material and wool clothing needing a new purpose! I made a wonderful wool quilt from old men's suits and coats. It's so warm and comfy. I'd LOVE to see some of your quilts.

Patricia

Well come winter, I'll wish I was in Florida. I actually took a trip to Jacksonville with some friends in 1970. I took every tour and seen everything from the alligators to the first school house, and had palm salad on the Cedar Keys. We just went every day. I loved St Augustine and the white sandy beaches.
Landing in Chicago in February is no picnic though. One our wheels caught on fire and we fish tailed all the way down the runway. I didn't know that till a lady got on the plane and told me. I was wondering why we were there so long.

Wisconsin! That's where half my relatives are. My mom and dad and oldest brother were born in Superior. I have an aunt and cousin in Tomahawk, and another cousin in, oops can't remember the name, but they were dairy farmers forever and retired last year. they sold all the cows off, went in the house and cried and said "why did we work so hard all these years", but they get away and travel a lot. I was born in Hibbing Minnesota the same day and same hospital as Bob Dillon, so he can't lie about his age to the reporters without me noticing. I'm making a red and white quilt right now, but there's also two more waiting for me, all cut out and hope to get them done by christmas, but right now I'm refurbishing a doll house I made for my granddaughter 20 years ago. It's 1/12 inch scale, and I have an unfinished table cloth to crochet and a sweater to finish putting sleeves on, and I'm making dish rags with cotton yarn. No, I'm not an A type personality, I just get distracted easy. But I always get it all done. No new projects for the rest of the year. The doll house is near done, just have to paint the shutters and all the furniture is done, the doll house is lighted and carpeted with velvet upholstery. bye for now.
