A little here and there

Thanks for sharing. My name is Corry. Am new to quilting but have sewn all my life. My Mom was a seamstress and she taught me a little but we never got to really share and enjoy the craft together. I am thankful in that I know my talents come from her. My Mom passed away several years ago too and my sister sent me alot of my Mom's sewing things. I have her big blue sewing box and and a few of her sewing things. I am thankful to have them but sad that we never got to enjoy this common love of sewing together. My daughters are doing the same as me. They are so busy with better things to do and by the time they take an interest in sewing I will be long gone too. Go figure.... Glad you have joined us....I am new too. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa but moved here to freezing Florida a long time ago. Glad to meet all of you ladies.

What a lovely story! My mom and I used to sew together -- we would put both machines in the dining room and have at it. We spent two weeks one summer sewing all my clothes to go off to college. It is one of my best memories!

I also recognized with your story, My Mother taught me to sew on her '50 something Black-head 301 Singer', model, I was blessed to be the care taker of the very last Singer 401A model that she purchased on her own. I continue to sew on it every day. Continue in your healing process of your love of your Mother and keep quilting and welcome.

Welcome from Pittsburgh Pa. I still have my mom,but we never really did any kind of needlework together. I was kind of on my own with that. My grandma loved everything I did. So after she passed I kept thinking of all the times I spent working on projects with her. When I go in my quilting room, I always wish she could see how far I 've come. But I know she is here, guiding me.
