What a sad story, but she really probably loves your company and you are a caring person for being there with her, enjoy your quilting lessons

A big warm welcome from cold WV. Love your story. Spend lots of time with her if you can. You will never regret it.

I am slowly finding my way around the forum once again after the new changes and I wanted to update you. My friend/quilting teacher passed away on March 5, 2012.

Near the end another quilter who heard about Lois came and worked on the king size quilt as it had to be turned one more time. She is a machine quilter and never hand quilted in her life but she was still able to stitch faster than me. There was enough fabric left for her to take home and do the binding. Lois got worse and was in the hospital and then hospice and another stranger came from no where and helped finished the quilt, washed it and it was taken to Lois to give to her daughter two days before she passed away.

If a quilt truly does tell a story this quilt has a beauitful story indeed telling of a dear soul who passed on her knowledge and talents to others and brought 3 strangers together to hand quilt and will always have fond memories and be able to continue doing what Lois enjoyed for so many years.

This is the last picture I have of Lois holding my table runner.

How wonderful is your story. I hope you continue your journey after your friend is gone home; I know she will know how much you enjoy this time.
