Hello and welcome from Sherwood, OR. This is a wonderful place to be. I can't tell you that you will be addicted and to be careful because you already are!

Finishing quilts: Almost every quilt I have made there was a purpose behind it and I did finish them. I have two unfinished; my first and now for my son(s). One thing I have found was spray basting goes real fast and is a lot better than pinning the quilt together. It really is nice! Just make sure you do it in sections. Glad you joined us!

Welcome from Southern Virginia. You have some great quilt shops in Richmond! I have so many UFO's I can't even count them all, many are either tops that are finished or quilts that are sandwiched and ready to quilt. Guess it's quilters block

Welcome from Michigan. Hope your temp is history, I am contemplating moving to Alaska just to get out of the heat and it is not nearly 102! I have the same problem....starting lots of projects or buying them and never finishing. I have decided to not start any new projects until I catch up on the unfinished ones.

Thank you all for your kind welcome[s]. I've been through almost all of your respective states, except Alaska (Hawaii, Maine, I think that's it).
I lived in Costa Mesa for 12+ yrs, and San Fernando Valley }-( for 9 yrs; worked in Simi Valley on Easy St (really!); and traveled to Oxnard and your area - but many, many years ago (+/- 20 yrs).
Growing up, my family traveled aLot in the summer. We lived in Laramie, WY, during my elementary school yrs + 7th grade. I've been through the western ~ mid-western states extensively.
My family moved to Virginia, because when my dad was in the Navy, he visited the Dahlgren Navy base many, many yrs before and liked it for retirement, eventually. My brother graduated from ODU in Norfolk, and my sister graduated from Emory and Henry in Southern VA.
I went to college @ Univ. of South Florida; my grandparents were snow birds and had a place in St. Pete years before. As well, we were stationed in Pensacola where my dad was a FlyBoy in the Navy. My uncle was CO at another Navy field in Pensacola a few years after that.
I've wanted to visit Portland, OR for their art community, but have been through Oregon and enjoyed the lush greenery.
I've enjoyed the diversity of the US, which means people and countryside, and how much we are alike, too.
This Board is a great place of people, support, learning...!
