Welcome to the group! I was at Joanns the other day, and they had some new thimbles in, they were a soft rubber in flourescent colors.

I have tried everything and for me the only thing that worked was the tape. I have rubber thimbles, 3 different leather thimble, even one that is supposedly soft dear skin, leather pads. I just never could feel the needle well enough through anything but the tape. I even tried liquid bandaid and it wasn't enough protection.

I know a lot of people use the leather thimble underneath, but I still could not feel the needle.
