Hi,
I am a new quilter. I want to start to make a quilt and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on an easy quilt to start with. I would really appreaciate it.
Thanks so much,
LFocht (Browneyes)

I think a good one to start with would be made up of all squares, either in a diagonal pattern, a random pattern, or trip around the world. Nine patch is also a pattern that uses just squares. If you've been reading this site for awhile, you know there are always great sites shared. A couple I like are quilterscache, equiltblocks, and quiltville. Good luck with your quilting. We're glad to have you on board.

Welcome! It is wonderful to have new quilters, and there certainly seems to be enough experience here to help someone who wants to learn.

My suggestion is something like a tripple rail fence or a log cabin. My son did a report on quilting when he was in the first grade and made a quilted pillow to go with his report. He didn't do a perfect job, but it was a good starter quilt (and small to keep his interest up until completion) and only requires 3 fabrics.

Welcome! What kinds of quilts are you drawn to? Eleanor Burns is a great author for learning strip piecing. If you want to start smaller, there was a tablerunner class that was quick and fun.
