Welcome from Florida. I just got the Janome6600 and so far i love it. My daughter's MIL works with special children and it's a challenging but fulfilling job, depending on the day, lol! She is very good at it, as I am sure you are. Takes a lot of dedication, 'specially giving those kids as much as you can, cause you can see the homes some of them come from are a little lacking...hope you enjoy it here :D

I read this and it sounded exactly like me, I'm a speech pathologist in the public school system. And I say all the time "quilting is my therapy". I just joined this forum also to chat and learn.

hi and welcome to florida. Since you are a speech pathologist, would you give me your opinion on something? Is it more helpful or harmful to teach a pre-schooler, (not in school at all), to read if they have a pronounced lingual problem? No birth defects etc. just substitutes the sounds she can say well, so she is not learning to pronouce phonics correctly, but I keep going and say nothing but encouragement, bc we both know what she means.
